Hi All,

I am sure this is something which has been regularly debated but I am having trouble finding any clear summary of the differences between all of the different Linux distros when used as a KVM workstation Host. Do they all use the same version of KVM, if not can anyone point me in the direction of which distributions use the latest KVM?

I am trying to decide which Linux distribution is going to be best to use as a basic Host server for KVM to provide workstation virtualization. Given the chance I would prefer to use KVM over VirtualBox if it will do the job.

Summary of my requirements and potential difficulties, as far as I know, are:

Workstation Virtualization - both host partition and VMs all running on same physical machine
Clean basic install for host KVM partition without Browser, Office or other unnecessary accessories and additions.
GUI required as this is for workstation virtualization
Support for dual-screens on nVidia GPU
Mixed Windows and Linux guest operating systems
Access to NTFS partitions on same machine
Access to Windows network

Any suggestions.

Thanks,
Nick
