hi folks,
Im new to this forum, and new to installing VMs.
I just wanted to report a problem with a piece of documentation:
http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Boot_from_virtio_block_device
I just installed a 64 bits ubuntu server, an ubuntu 11.10, on an ide disk, I wanted to change to virtio.
I didnt find the /boot/grub entries described in the doc. So I tried *just to change* disk definition to virtio, thru
virsh edit... and the machine booted fine!
So I guess the documentation applies for older kernels, or grubs, or distros, for me it was a misleader.
